Installation and performance device
2008
This performance based environment is made of a sculptural element, a series of text interventions posted on signs and of a sound device. On the edge between a simulated decor in the “teenage” aesthetic and a real plastic and visual proposition, this project revolves around the themes of sentimentality, absence and stretched time. The cardboard scene and the carpet placed in a vertical position evoking the minimalist sculptures as well as the speakers placed on the floor referring to the universe of karaoke act as defused performing devices. Howerver, some self-representing areas will remain inactive. Here and there are placed posters which have a collection of drawings representing boredom, loneliness and wait. Thoughout these inscriptions are texts with contents that make the teenaged stereotype move to another level. In the way of a self-fiction, this installation opens a space of mental projection between my writing, performance and the universe of pop music.
